Wow what an incredible Hepatitis Awareness Month!
In addition to the two hepatitis B screenings conducted–one at Bethany Indonesian Church of God and one at the Asian Heritage Month Celebration in Franklin Park–we had fun just being out and about, raising awareness all over the town.
On May 18, we gathered in LOVE Park with Councilman David Oh and Mayor Michael Nutter and many other strong and dedicated supporters of Hep B United Philly to raise awareness. A city council resolution was presented. A “Hep B Rap” was done. And a Photo Flash Mob was.. frozen for 2 minutes! Check out the video here for a quick recap of what happened!
On June 2, Team Philadelphia Hep B Heroes overcame the strong current in Schuylkill River and won the divisional bronze medal at the Independence Dragon Boat Regatta! Our photo was even featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

We’re excited about what’s going to happen the rest of this year and in 2013. Aren’t you? If you want to join us in raising awareness for hepatitis B, collaborate or volunteer with us at any events, please contact Daniel Chen the program manager now at Daniel.Chen@hepb.org!
